Selection problem for Freddie Ljungberg
Arsenal have provided injury updates on Kieran Tierney, Nicolas Pepe, Hector Bellerin & Granit Xhaka ahead of the clash with Standard Liege on Thursday.
The Gunners have struggled in recent weeks despite parting with Unai Emery.
The Spaniard was sacked after a less than impressive start to the season, with Freddie Ljungberg taking over as interim manager.
Though, the Swede has also struggled to improve Arsenal’s fortunes.
The Gunners drew with Norwich in their first game with Ljungberg in charge, before losing to Brighton.
Arsenal did pick up their first win in ten games when they beat West Ham on Monday, in what was no doubt be a much-needed boost of confidence.
Though, that win has certainly taken its toll.
A mixed bag of injury news
In an injury report released by Arsenal, the club have provided updates on several players.
Kieran Tierney is the most serious one, with Arsenal confirming he has dislocated his shoulder.
They claim he is ‘currently undergoing further assessment and investigations’ but reports suggest he could miss three months.
Nicolas Pepe scored in the win over West Ham, but the Gunners have confirmed he suffered bruising on his right knee and will miss the Liege game, potentially Manchester City too.
Granit Xhaka also featured against West Ham, but suffered a concussion.
Arsenal claim he will miss both the Standard Liege and Manchester City games.
The Gunners also have an update for Hector Bellerin.
They reveal the Spaniard has a tight hamstring and will miss the Standard Liege game, while being assessed ahead of Man City.
