Arsenal release 5 injury updates before Tottenham

Arsenal have made a solid start to the season with their new additions already managing to make a good impression.

Unai Emery will be hoping his new-look side can now produce a statement in Sunday’s north London derby.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners have released five injury updates.

Kieran Tierney expected back in September

Kieran Tierney is closing in on a return to action following his move to north London from Celtic.

The 22-year-old has been struggling with a groin problem which has kept him on the sidelines.

However, Arsenal have seen the defender make good progress with his recovery.

He is now aiming to return to full training in September.

Although, right now, his presence in the squad is very much needed with Nacho Monreal set to leave.

Sead Kolasinac is, therefore, the club’s only available left-back.

Hector Bellerin also expected back in September

Hector Bellerin is also closing in on his long-awaited return from injury.

The Spaniard has spent over seven months on the sidelines after rupturing his ACL.

Like Tierney, he too is expected back in full training in September, in what would be a big boost for Emery.

Tierney and Bellerin as full-backs would certainly be an exciting prospect for the Gunners.

Rob Holding, Emile Smith Rowe and Konstantinos Mavropanos

Rob Holding is closing in on his return to the first-team after featuring for the club’s under-23s.

The former Bolton man has been sidelined since December with a knee injury.

However, last Friday, he managed to complete 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Everton under-23s.

Emile Smith Rowe also featured in the draw with the Toffee’s youngsters upon his return from a groin issue.

He also featured for the under-21s against Northampton Town on Tuesday.

Finally, Konstantinos Mavropanos is targeting a return to training in September.
