Record-breaking transfer in the offing
Chelsea are reportedly ‘confident’ of signing Jadon Sancho and are willing to pay more than their club-record transfer fee to get him.
Sancho has been simply incredible since joining Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City.
The English winger left the Premier League champions in search of regular football and found that in the Bundesliga.
Since joining Dortmund, Sancho has scored an impressive 21 goals and assisted 32 in 74 appearances.
For a 19-year-old, that’s pretty incredible.
That form has lead to many in the Premier League being linked with a move to bring Sancho back to England.
Though, a new report suggests Chelsea are confident of beating both clubs to his signature either in January or the summer.
Will it be Chelsea, Man United or Liverpool for Sancho?
According to Goal, Chelsea are ready to break their transfer record to sign Jadon Sancho.
They are also ‘confident about their chances’.
Their report claims Chelsea ‘are confident about their chances of landing him ahead of Manchester United either in January or next summer.’
It’s explained that despite being under a transfer ban, Chelsea are ‘pressing ahead’ with their transfer plans as a decision over their appeal is due soon.
Jadon Sancho looks to be a top target, with Goal suggesting Chelsea are willing to break their transfer record.
They claim ‘Chelsea are willing to pay more than the £72 million they stumped up to capture goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Club last year.’
They also suggest ‘United are prepared to pay up to €140m’ for Sancho, but their league position makes a move difficult.
