Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has this afternoon provided a fitness update on his squad, ahead of their meeting with Burnley.
Chelsea host Burnley
The Blues are set to welcome Sean Dyche’s outfit to Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon, for a Premier League clash.
Lampard’s men will head into proceedings hoping to further tighten their grip on 4th-spot in the English top-flight.
As things stand, Chelsea sit 5 points clear of 5th-placed Manchester United.
This comes despite the capital giants having endured a largely hit-and-miss spell of form of late.
Chelsea have managed just 2 wins from their last 6 league fixtures.
The Pensioners’ latest league outing, meanwhile, saw them stutter to a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton last week.
As such, with Man United expected to pick up all 3 points at home to bottom of the table Norwich this weekend, Chelsea will likely require a victory of their own to maintain their advantage over the Red Devils, and the rest of the Champions League-chasing pack.
And Frank Lampard has this afternoon provided an update on the squad set to be at his disposal tomorrow afternoon.
First off, the Blues boss confirmed that long-term injury absentee Ruben Loftus-Cheek is not expected to return to the pitch any time soon.
Lampard then went on to reveal that Christian Pulisic picked up a tendon issue in training this week. As such, the United States international is set ‘for a few weeks’ on the sidelines.
Finally, Marcos Alonso has not recovered in time to feature versus Burnley.
Lampard reports that Loftus-Cheek is still out for a while. Pulisic is out for a few weeks with a tendon injury suffered in training. Alonso is improving but won’t be ready for tomorrow.#CHEBUR
