Palace are not budging
Crystal Palace will stick to their £80million valuation of Wilfried Zaha ahead of the January transfer window, with Chelsea linked with a move.
Zaha was heavily linked with a move away from Palace in the summer window.
Arsenal were linked with a move but they eventually settled on Nicolas Pepe instead.
Everton were then linked late on in the window, but that also fell through.
Zaha was then forced to remain at Palace, where he’s scored two goals in 17 games across all competitions.
Recently though, rumours of a move in January have been cropping up.
Zaha’s agent pushed the idea of a move in the winter window recently, while Chelsea have been linked with a bid after their transfer ban was lifted.
Now, the Standard claim Palace are not budging from their asking price.
Is Zaha worth £80million?
According to the Standard, Palace ‘will not budge’ from their £80million valuation of the player.
They claim that despite Zaha wanting to leave, ‘Palace are in a position of power given the Ivory Coast international, who admitted his head was “all over the place” earlier in the campaign, is under contract until June 2023 having penned a new five-year deal in 2018.’
The Standard go on to explain that Chelsea are keen on Zaha, with the futures of both Pedro and Willian up in the air.
They claim: ‘The Blues are keen on Palace’s talisman as they look to bring in long-term replacements for both Willian and Pedro.’
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and he could provide another option for the Blues in January.
