Heaton out for season
Tom Heaton began the 2019/20 campaign as Aston Villa’s main goalkeeper.
The Englishman signed for the newly-promoted side over the summer, leaving Burnley.
Heaton seemed like a solid addition for Villa. He is a proven Premier League keeper and has a fair bit of English top-flight experience, something that is always useful for a side that has just won promotion.
However, Heaton would suffer an injury vs his former club Burnley, earlier this week.
Villa then confirmed on Friday that Heaton will miss the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.
The Club can confirm that Tom Heaton and Wesley both suffered significant knee ligament damage during our match with Burnley on Wednesday and will now miss the rest of the season. #AVFC

Hart to Villa?
Losing someone of Heaton’s caliber is a huge blow for the relegation-battling side.
But with the January transfer window open, Villa have already been linked with another keeper.
That man was former Manchester City star Joe Hart with the Daily Mail claiming Hart is among the keepers being considered by Villa boss, Dean Smith.
But when asked about the possibility of signing Hart, who is currently plying his trade at Burnley, Smith was rather coy on the situation:
“There’s an awful lot of candidates that we’ve been looking at. I’m not going to give any names.
“Also the two we’ve got here, Kalinic and Nyland. They are both international goalkeepers, there’s opportunities for them.
“Nyland has been very good for me, there was not a lot he could have done with the two goals and his distribution was very good. We’re looking in the market at a number of things now.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
