The race to sign Monaco’s Djibril Sidibe
Djibril Sidibe was one of the few players who didn’t leave Monaco after the Ligue 1 side reached the Champions League semi-final in 2016-17.
That Monaco side has since been ripped apart.
Kylian Mbappe joined PSG, Man City signed Bernando Silva while Chelsea penned Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Sidibe, now 26, has played at right-back for Monaco for several seasons.
However, in the past few days reports are getting louder that the French defender could be off.
Sidibe is under contract until 2022.
West Ham & Newcastle in talks
RMC Sport reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi has confirmed on Tuesday that West Ham and Newcastle are in talks with Monaco about signing Sidibe.
#West Ham et #Newcastle ont démarré des discussions avec l’AS Monaco pour #Sidibe ! D’autres clubs anglais ont sollicité l’AS Monaco pour l’international français ! Monaco lui a donné un bon de sortie.

Last season Pablo Zabaleta was West Ham’s mainstay at right-back.
As for Newcastle, American international DeAndre Yedlin played in that position.
Mohamed Bouhafsi failed to mention how much Monaco are asking for Sidibe.
However, the journalist did note that the defender has additional interest from the Premier League.
Could Crystal Palace sign Sidibe?
Crystal Palace appear to be on the lookout for a new right-back after selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Man United.
On Monday, France Football linked the Eagles to Sidibe.

The report said that Monaco would sell Sidibe for 15 million euros.
However, France Football questioned whether Crystal Palace could actually pull off the transfer as the south Londoners were described as a “less upscale club” than other suitors.
France Football also dropped Valencia’s name into the mix.
