Bournemouth vs Burnley
Bournemouth are set to go head-to-head with Burnley this coming Saturday.
The Cherries had been in pretty diabolical form of late. However, their last outing saw them earn a much-needed 1-0 victory over 4th place Chelsea.
Bournemouth will begin the weekend’s Premier League action down in 14th place, just four points adrift of the bottom three.
So, with Bournemouth extremely close to being sucked into the relegation battle, a win vs Burnley is of paramount importance.
As for Burnley, they began the weekend 12th in the table, two points above Bournemouth.
Howe on King & Surman
Eddie Howe would hold his pre-Burnley press conference on Friday.
When speaking to the media, Howe gave an update on a couple of his players.
Joshua King missed three of Bournemouth’s league clashes in a row but he then managed 75 minutes vs Chelsea before going off with a twisted ankle.
As a result, Howe stated that Bournemouth will have to see how both King and Andrew Surman are after Surman picked up a calf problem vs Chelsea:
“We have concerns on a few players and we’ll make some very late calls on them.
“Joshua King went off last week with a twisted ankle so we’ll see how he is, Andrew Surman picked up a calf problem from the game, so we’ll see how he is.
“Have we got any returns for the game from previous weeks? No, I don’t think so, we’re pretty much as we were. We’re stretched at the moment, that’s been well documented, but we’re still hopeful that a lot of the players with the longer-term injuries are making good progress, but they’re not going to be ready short term.” As quoted by Bournemouth’s official website.
