Fantasy Premier League 2019/20 Gameweek 18: Three in, three out

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 18 kicks off on Saturday the 21st of December at 12:30 pm UK time, when Everton play host to Arsenal.

Gameweek 18 will end on Sunday the 22nd of December, with Chelsea traveling to Tottenham.

So, all of your transfers for GW18 need to be done by 11:30 am UK time on Saturday.

But if you are struggling to choose who to sign and who to sell this week, here are some tips.

Three in including Tottenham midfielder

Heung-Min Son (10.1)

Tottenham have been in fine form since Jose Mourinho took the reins last month.

Spurs are up to 5th in the Premier League and could end up in the top-four by the time game week 18 draws to a close.

The North London outfit are taking on 4th place Chelsea this weekend.

And while Chelsea are above Spurs, their recent form has been dreadful, losing four of their last five league ties.

So, given Chelsea’s poor form and their slightly shaky defence, you should probably have a Spurs player in your side this week.

A solid choice would be Heung-Min Son. Son has scored five and assisted nine in the league this term and is the 5th best midfielder on FPL so far this campaign.

Richarlison (7.9)

Since Duncan Ferguson was named caretaker boss for Everton, their form has improved a fair bit.

In the two league games Ferguson has been in charge of the Toffees have beaten Chelsea and drawn with Manchester United.

Everton would also only lose on penalties to an in-form Leicester side in the League Cup earlier this week.

And with Everton playing host to a very poor Arsenal side who ship goals for fun this weekend, signing Richarlison may be a solid shout.

The Brazilian is fairly inexpensive and his form of late has been solid.

Richarlison has found the back of the net three times in his last four league outings and would make a decent budget midfield option.

Martin Kelly (4.4)

If you are looking for a really cheap budget defender then Martin Kelly is your man.

The Crystal Palace full-back will cost you just 4.4 and for that price, you are signing a defender who has earned six clean sheets in 11 starts this season for the Eagles.

Crystal Palace also have the second-best defence outside of the PL top-four so far this season.

And with Palace taking on a low-scoring Newcastle side this weekend, another Kelly clean sheet does look pretty likely.

Three out including Liverpool winger

Sadio Mane (12.2)

Sadio Mane has the third most points of any player on FPL so far this term. So, selling him may seem a bit odd.

However, Liverpool are not playing a league tie this game week as they are competing in the Club World Cup.

Liverpool’s following three PL outings are also pretty tough ties and one or two of those games may see Mane either benched or left out due to the tight fixture schedule.

The Reds next three league ties are against 2nd place Leicester, 8th place Wolves, who always seem to do better against the bigger clubs and then Sheffield United, who have the 3rd best defence in the PL.

Mason Mount (6.5)

Mason Mount looked like a real bargain at the beginning of the campaign.

Both Mount and Chelsea were in superb form and his original price of 6.0 seemed a real steal.

However, Chelsea are experiencing a dip in form, losing four of their last five league ties.

And Mount is also struggling to earn goal contributions. The midfielder has scored just one and provided no assists in his last seven league outings.

Wesley (5.7)

Much like Mount, Wesley had a fairly decent start to the 2019/20 season.

The Brazilian scored four in his first eight league games for Aston Villa and seemed like an ok budget striker.

However, in his following nine league appearances for Villa, Wesley has not provided a single goal or assist.

So, you would probably be better served selling Wesley and signing someone like Danny Ings or Teemu Pukki.
