A number of posts across social media this afternoon have confirmed the attendance of out-of-work tactician Niko Kovac at Goodison Park, for Everton’s clash with Chelsea.
Everton on top
The Toffees are currently locked in action with Frank Lampard’s men on Merseyside.
The matchup comes as Everton’s first since Marco Silva’s dismissal was made official on Thursday night.
A 5-2 drubbing at the hands of city rivals Liverpool saw the Blues slip into the Premier League’s relegation zone, marking the end of Silva’s 18-month spell at Goodison.

Duncan Ferguson, meanwhile, was subsequently tasked with caretaker duties for Everton’s meeting with Chelsea this afternoon.
And, as things stand, the Scot’s leadership appears to be having the desired effect, with the hosts holding a 2-1 advantage 20 minutes from time.
Nevertheless, though, as has been widely-highlighted across social media, a potential permanent installment on the Everton bench has been spotted in attendance at Goodison Park.
The individual in question? Niko Kovac.
Former Bayern Munich boss Kovac was relieved of his duties at the Allianz Arena early last month, on the back of a disappointing spell of form.
The Croatian’s appearance on Merseyside this afternoon, though, would certainly seem to suggest that he could soon make a return to the dugout.

Niko Kovac, former Bayern manager, is watching the game from the Everton Directors Box; must be stressed he has just left a good distance away from Moshiri and Kenwright and doesn’t appear to be in their company.
