How Manchester United plan to use Alexis Sanchez if Inter Milan move fails

In the final week of the European transfer window, Alexis Sanchez is looking to leave Manchester United.

The Chilean hopes to end his torrid 18-month spell at Old Trafford with Inter Milan in talks over a move.

The Times has revealed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for Sanchez should his move to Italy fail to materialise.

The former Arsenal player has fallen down the pecking order at United, and unsurprisingly so given his poor form.

Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and now even Mason Greenwood are the manager’s preferred options.

Should he fail to complete a loan move to Inter before Monday’s transfer deadline, he will be confined to a limited squad role.

According to the Times, it is expected that the 30-year-old will feature mostly in the Europa League and the domestic cups.

United unhappy with Inter’s current loan offer

Inter have currently offered to pay £150k-per-week of Sanchez’s £391k-per-week wages.

United are unhappy with the offer as they do not want to pay a player out on loan £241k-per-week.

The forward has complicated matters more as he is unwilling to take a pay cut.

Antonio Conte is hopeful of bringing the forward to the San Siro to partner his former teammate Romelu Lukaku.

It is understood that both players developed a close relationship at Old Trafford.
