Leicester City have this afternoon provided an update on the fitness of star midfielder James Maddison, ahead of the club’s meeting with Southampton.

The Foxes are set to welcome Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men to the King Power tomorrow afternoon, for their latest Premier League outing.
Leicester will head into proceedings on the back of a somewhat disappointing result last time out, when the first-leg of the club’s Carabao Cup semi-final tie with Aston Villa ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
In the Premier League, though, Brendan Rodgers’ men have continued to impress of late.
After a stutter over the festive period in tough respective meetings with Manchester City and Liverpool, Leicester have since bounced back over the last couple of weeks.
The King Power outfit first put West Ham to the sword in London, before making short work of Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
Both of the Foxes’ latest league victories, meanwhile, came with star hitman Jamie Vardy having missed out through injury.
The English top-flight’s top-scorer returned to action versus Villa on Wednesday night, though, and is also expected to feature from the off this weekend.
But, in another source of concern for Leicester on the personnel front, it was subsequently confirmed on the back of the club’s Villa stalemate that James Maddison had picked up an injury problem.
As such, speaking in his pre-Southampton press conference this afternoon, Brendan Rodgers was asked for an update on the fitness of his side’s midfield creator.
The news on Maddison, though, was largely positive, with Rodgers having confirmed that the English international ‘has been in training after suffering a slight knock’ on Wednesday.
As a result, Maddison is also expected to be fit to start tomorrow afternoon.
