Liverpool lift CWC
Liverpool were not in Premier League action this weekend as they were competing in the Club World Cup.
After lifting the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup earlier this year, the Reds had a great chance to earn a third trophy in 2019.
The Merseyside powerhouse entered the competition in the semi-final stage where they saw off Mexican outfit, Monterrey.
Liverpool then took on Brazilian side Flamengo in the final on Saturday.
Roberto Firmino’s strike in extra time was the only goal of the game as Liverpool lifted the CWC for the first time in their history.

During the CWC final Liverpool would be forced to bring off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after the midfielder went down and looked in considerable pain.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would also provide an update on Ox after the clash.
The German stated Chamberlain feels ok but they will have to see if he has suffered a stretched ligament or if it is ruptured:
“I spoke a second ago with him.
“If you see it already on television again, for us in the game it was not so easy, he showed me now the video and when he’s landing he gets the kick and rolls over.
“He feels OK. We will see. Of course, not perfect – far away from being perfect – but we will see if it’s a ligament stretch only or is ruptured, partly ruptured or whatever, we have to see.
“That’s a big shadow again but that’s how it is in contact sport. He seems to be OK.” As quoted by Liverpool’s official website.
