Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has moved to heap praise on Manchester United, ahead of his side’s meeting with the Red Devils.
Liverpool host United
English football’s two biggest clubs are set to renew their rivalries this evening, in a high-profile Premier League meeting.
Hosts Liverpool will of course head into the clash as overwhelming favourites to emerge with all 3 points, amid a staggering spell of form.
As things stand, the European champions sit 13 points clear of 2nd-placed Manchester City in the English top-flight, with the advantage of a further 2 games in hand.
This comes with Liverpool having racked up 20 wins and a draw from their 21 Premier League outings to this point in the campaign.
It is worth noting, though, that the only side to have taken points from the Reds this season were their opponents later today.
A meeting between the sides at Old Trafford back in October saw Marcus Rashford hand United a first-half lead, before Liverpool eventually snatched a point courtesy of Adam Lallana’s late strike.
‘Of course they can beat us’
And one individual who evidently expects a similarly tough test for Liverpool when the Premier League leaders welcome Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to Anfield this evening is Jurgen Klopp.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s latest outing, the Reds boss was drawn on the challenge that awaits Liverpool versus Man United.
And, after labelling the Manchester giants ‘a really, really good’ side, Klopp went on to reveal that he expects Solskjaer’s outfit to have secured a top-4 berth come the season’s end:
‘United have a really, really good football team.’
‘They are talented, experienced, and there is a lot of good potential on the pitch. I think they will probably qualify for the Champions League this season.’
‘So of course they can beat us – but they can only play as good as we let them play.’
