Spanish giants Barcelona have this evening named the club’s travelling squad set to take on Inter Milan tomorrow night, with several key players omitted.
Inter host Barca
The Blaugrana are set to travel to the San Siro, for their final Champions League group stage outing of the campaign.
Ernesto Valverde’s men are already guaranteed of top spot in Group F, having racked up 11 points from their 5 fixtures to this point.
The battle for 2nd, however, is still very much alive.
As things stand, both Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund have 7 points on the board, having split their two meetings over the last couple of months.
As a result, a place in the Champions League’s last-16 remains very much up for grabs.
Many view Dortmund as favourites to advance as things stand, with the Bundesliga giants set to take on bottom of the table Slavia Prague in their final group outing.
Inter, on the other hand, as outlined above, face the might of Barcelona, who previously put Antonio Conte’s men to the sword by 2 goals to 1 back in October.
Messi stays at home
The Nerazzurri’s chances of advancing, though, have this evening been dealt a boost.
This comes after Barcelona’s travelling squad set for Milan was announced a short time ago.
The Catalans have opted to leave out talisman Lionel Messi, on the back of the Argentine’s sublime hat-trick versus Mallorca over the weekend.
Elsewhere, both Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto are also rested, with all of Jordi Alba, Ousmane Dembele, Arthur and Nelson Semedo set to miss out through injury.
