Liverpool have this afternoon been dealt a blow on the personnel front, during the Reds’ meeting with Bournemouth.
Liverpool visit Bournemouth
Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently locked in action at the Vitality Stadium, in their latest Premier League outing.
The Reds headed into the clash brimming with confidence, on the back of 6 straight league victories.
The latest of these came this past Wednesday night, when Liverpool downed Merseyside rivals Everton by 5 goals to 2 at Anfield.
As such, ahead of kick-off this afternoon, the European champions were aware that another 3-point haul would see them, at least temporarily, open up a hefty 11-point gap over 2nd-placed Leicester City at the summit of the English top-flight.
And, as things stand, Klopp’s men are well on their way to doing exactly that.
The opening 45 minutes at the Vitality saw Liverpool open up a 2-goal lead, courtesy of strikes from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita.
And Mohamed Salah has since added a 3rd for the visitors, as they cruise towards a 7th-straight league win.
One source of concern on an otherwise-positive day’s work for Liverpool thus far, though, came on the personnel front.
Shortly before the interval, defender Dejan Lovren, who has been in fine form of late, was forced off, with an unspecified problem:
39′ Early change for the Reds; Lovren is replaced by @trentaa98. Gomez will now play alongside VVD.

Any lengthy spell on the sidelines for their Croatian stopper would come as a major blow for Liverpool, with fellow centre-half Joel Matip continuing to struggle with a knee injury of his own.
Lovren coming off. Not good news with Matip still sidelined. Trent AA on at RB and Gomez into the middle #LFC
