One midfielder for two
Manchester United have reportedly opened the door for a Paul Pogba exit, with both Saul Niguez and Donny van de Beek being targeted.
Rumours of a Paul Pogba exit have circulated for some time now.
However, a move never materialised and Pogba remained at Manchester United.
Since then, Pogba has only featured six times for the club due to injury.
Despite that, he is reportedly still looking to leave Manchester United.
According to new reports, he may get that wish soon enough.
Van de Beek & Niguez to Old Trafford?
According to the Mail, Manchester United ‘will open the door to Paul Pogba’s exit from Old Trafford by signing two central midfielders before the start of next season.’
Their report claims that Paul Pogba still wants to leave Old Trafford after pushing for a move in recent years.
It’s even claimed that Man United ‘made a tentative approach’ to discuss a new deal for Pogba.
However, that was flat out rejected by Pogba’s camp.
As a result, the Mail claim Manchester United have prioritised the signings of two central midfielders, which could open the door for a Pogba exit.
They claim: ‘They have weighed up a number of midfield options including Donny van de Beek of Ajax and Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, while Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Haaland, who shares the same agent, Mino Raiola, as Pogba, is the No 1 striker target.’
Van de Beek was also heavily linked with Real Madrid in the summer, while Niguez has impressed at Atletico Madrid.
