As per a report from Sky Sports, Manchester United have come to the decision not to table a January offer for Tottenham contract rebel Christian Eriksen.
The story surrounding the future of Danish international Eriksen has proven one of the talking points of English football for some time now.
The gifted midfielder has long stood as one of Tottenham’s key performers, since his arrival from Ajax in the summer of 2013.
The last 4 Premier League campaigns combined, including last season, saw Eriksen directly contribute to a hugely-impressive 83 goals.
However, despite his crucial role in Spurs’ midfield ranks, and the club’s best efforts, to this point, Eriksen has refused to put pen-to-paper on a new deal in north London.
The 94-time capped international’s current contract is set to expire in the summer.
United out of the running
As such, speculation surrounding a potential Spurs exit for Eriksen has inevitably been forthcoming.
The Dane was hotly-tipped to depart the English capital last summer, when Real Madrid proved the outfit most persistently-touted as a potential destination.
In the end, however, Los Blancos evidently failed to meet Tottenham’s demands.
But, with just 6 months remaining on his deal at present, the opening of the January transfer window has since resulted in the rumours surrounding Eriksen’s future reemerging in force.
As per the aforementioned report from Sky Sports, though, one club who will not be lodging an offer to coax the midfielder away from north London this month are Manchester United.
The Red Devils have, in the past, been named as keen admirers of Eriksen’s talents.
However, those in charge at Old Trafford have come to the decision not to pursue his signature in January.
As things stand, Serie A giants Inter Milan are viewed as Eriksen’s most likely landing spot this month.
