Norwich suffer Timm Klose & Christoph Zimmermann injuries before West Ham

Norwich City have been dealt two injury blows ahead of Saturday’s trip to West Ham United.

The Canaries crashed out of the Carabao Cup to League 2 side Crawley Town on Tuesday evening.

But the result was the least of their worries with both Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann suffering injuries.

Daniel Farke: “The first diagnosis with Timm is ACL”

Klose’s season appears to be over before it even began.

Having just returned from a knee injury, which had plagued his pre-season, the Swiss defender has suffered a potentially season-ending injury.

The 31-year-old is believed to have damaged his ACL, according to the club’s medical staff via Daniel Farke.

Farke revealed:

“The first report I have got from my medical department is horrible.

“The first diagnosis with Timm is ACL.

“That would mean he is out until the end of the season or best-case, March or April.

“We hope and we pray it is not this news.

“It was an unlucky situation. The Crawley lad slipped and bashed into Timm.”

Zimmermann also suffers injury upon return to action vs Crawley

Christoph Zimmermann also suffered an injury upon his return from knee problems.

The defender missed Norwich’s opening three league games and returned to action last night.

He was forced to play longer than expected due to Klose’s injury but ended up taking a knock to his back.

Farke said:

“With Christoph, it was planned to bring him on the pitch for 45 minute.

“But with the injury to Timm he had to play a little bit longer and got a hit on his back and his hip area.

“The first news is it is more or less alright. We definitely need him.”
