Premier League giants Liverpool have announced that the club have clinched a deal with RB Salzburg, for the signing of Takumi Minamino.
Liverpool march on
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds wrapped up their Champions League group stage endeavours last week.
The European champions faced a tricky trip to Austria, to take on surprise package RB Salzburg.
Ahead of kick-off, Group E remained wide open, with Liverpool having topped the table on 10 points, narrowly ahead of 2nd-placed Napoli.
Salzburg, meanwhile, sat 3rd, with an impressive 7 points.
As such, Liverpool were aware that a defeat last Tuesday could have seen them ousted from the Champions League.
When all was said and done, though, the Reds stood tall, navigating a testing 90 minutes to eventually emerge victorious.
A pair of quickfire goals from Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah just before the hour-mark eventually proved the difference between the sides at the Red Bull Arena Salzburg.

Minamino joins Reds
While it was Liverpool who snatched all 3 points in Austria, though, Salzburg again impressed over lengthy stretches, with the club’s gifted attacking stars having looked dangerous throughout.
One of those to have sparkled, meanwhile, was Japanese international Takumi Minamino.
24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger Minamino has been in stellar form over the first-half of the season, having directly contributed to 20 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.
This includes 2 goals and 3 assists in the Champions League, of which one of each came at Anfield back in October.
Minamino’s decisive performances versus his side, meanwhile, certainly didn’t go unnoticed on the part of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
As such, on the back of widespread reports of late that the Asian was inching towards a January switch to Merseyside, an agreement between Liverpool and RB Salzburg has today been made official.
In an announcement across the club’s social media platforms, the Reds confirmed:
‘The Japan international forward will officially become a Reds player on January 1 after he finalised personal terms and passed a medical on Merseyside on Wednesday.’
We can confirm an agreement has been reached with @redbullsalzburg for the transfer of Takumi Minamino 🙌
