Roma & Rangers enquired about taking Man City’s Phil Foden on loan – Mirror

Foden struggles for regular football

At 19 years of age Phil Foden is looking to be a real bright prospect for Manchester City.

When given the chance, Foden shows his quality which should only improve with each game he plays.

In total, Foden has featured 38 times for Man City’s senior side, scoring seven and assisting three in said games.

However, Foden’s game time has been rather limited in the 2019/20 season.

The midfielder has played just 10 minutes of Premier League football so far this campaign, coming off the bench in Manchester City’s 5-0 thrashing of West Ham.

Now, the Mirror are claiming that both AS Roma and Rangers have enquired about taking Foden on loan.

However, the report from the Mirror claims City knocked back the approaches from both clubs.

Pep on Foden

Man City beat Brighton 4-0 on Saturday with Foden once again being resigned to the bench.

However, prior to the Brighton clash, Pep Guardiola did speak about Foden and when he will play.

Guardiola stated that he doesn’t know when he play but it will happen because of the amount of games City will play:

“He is a shy guy.

“I would like him to talk more to me, but all the time I go to him and speak to him.

“He still looks at me with a little too much respect, and after two or three seasons it’s not necessary. But it’s normal, he is 19.

“I will decide when he plays. I don’t know when, but that’s going to happen because now we play an incredible amount of games.” As quoted by the Mirror.
