Tottenham have this evening released fitness updates on a trio of the club’s stars, ahead of their meeting with Arsenal this weekend.
Arsenal vs Spurs
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are set to travel to the Emirates on Sunday evening, for the first North London Derby of the campaign.
Both sides, meanwhile, will head into proceedings hoping for an immediate bounce-back performance.
Hosts Arsenal were put to the sword by 3 goals to 1 at Anfield last time out. The Gunners put up a much-improved fight this time out compared to their last trip to Liverpool, but were in the end undone by a Joel Matip header and some Mo Salah magic.
Tottenham, meanwhile, slipped to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle. Despite utterly dominating possession, a sucker punch strike from Joelinton with 27 minutes on the clock eventually saw the capital giants downed by Steve Bruce’s visitors.
79.8% – Tottenham had 79.8% possession in their 0-1 defeat to Newcastle; the second-highest figure for a losing side in the Premier League since 2003-04, behind only Liverpool’s 80.4% against Burnley in August 2016. Nullified. pic.twitter.com/sCoR81zPy3

As such, now sitting a full 5 points off the pace set by table-toppers Liverpool with just 3 games played, a defeat for Spurs versus their arch rivals in two days’ time would prove a hammer blow.
The north Londoners’ hopes of getting things back on track, though, have not been aided by a number of issues on the personnel front.
Summer signing Tanguy Ndombele, who missed last weekend’s defeat to Newcastle, has been in a race against time to regain full fitness ahead of Tottenham’s trip to the Emirates.
Kyle Walker-Peters, meanwhile, was forced off on the hour-mark against the Magpies, with fears having immediately spread that the stopper, who has replaced the departed Kieran Trippier in Mauricio Pochettino’s backline during the early weeks of the season, would miss Sunday’s action.
And, in a double blow for Spurs, it has this evening been confirmed that both players are set to sit out the derby clash.
Eric Dier, meanwhile, is also a doubt:
🔹 @ericdier (hip): Being assessed after complaining of irritation in right hip.
🔹 @TanguyNdombele (thigh): Commenced on-field rehab and remains unavailable.
