As per a report from Loic Tanzi of French outlet RMC Sport, Newcastle United look set to come up empty-handed in their pursuit of PSG starlet Stanley NSoki.
NSoki, a 20-year-old defender, came up through the youth ranks of Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Since breaking into the club’s first-team setup for the first time in 2017, though, NSoki has largely-struggled for game-time.
To this point, the gifted left-back, who can also fill in at centre-half when required, has managed 13 league appearances in the colours of the capital giants.
12 of these, though, came last season, as NSoki began to showcase his talents to Thomas Tuchel.
As things stand, however, the likes of Juan Bernat, Layvin Kurzawa and summer addition Abdou Diallo all sit ahead of the French U21 international in the defensive pecking order at the Parc des Princes.
As such, it has come as little surprise to see NSoki linked with a potential summer departure from PSG.
Newcastle switch falls through
A report from Loic Tanzi of RMC Sport last weekend, meanwhile, revealed that one of the youngster’s suitors had emerged as a clear front-runner for his signature.
The outfit in question were named as Newcastle United.
The Magpies were said to have agreed a deal worth 11 million Euro, plus 20% of any future sale, with PSG:
Newcastle et le #PSG ont trouvé un accord pour le transfert de Stanley N’Soki : 11 millions d’euros + 20% à la revente. Le joueur doit encore se mettre d’accord avec le club désormais. Les négociations ont débuté #Mercato #RMCSport

As such, this left just personal terms between NSoki and Newcastle to be ironed out.
As per Tanzi’s latest update, however, negotiations between the Geordie outfit and their defensive target have proven altogether unfruitful.
This has since seen the two parties walk away from discussions, without an agreement having been found.
As a result, NSoki will now pursue other avenues to secure a departure from PSG before the close of the summer transfer window.
