Giroud to leave Chelsea?
Olivier Giroud joined Chelsea in January of 2018, moving from fellow Premier League outfit, Arsenal.
The Frenchman has since gone on to feature 70 times for Chelsea across all competitions.
Giroud has also captured the FA Cup and Europa League whilst at Stamford Bridge with Giroud a key feature for Chelsea on their road to the 2019 Europa League final.
However, since the arrival of Frank Lampard to the Chelsea dugout, Giroud has found his game time very limited.
Giroud has featured just five times in the Premier League this term for Chelsea with the 33-year-old not playing in any of the Blues’ last five league outings.
With the former Arsenal forward’s game time so limited of late, France boss Didier Deschamps admitted Giroud may have to leave Chelsea.
It has also been reported that Giroud is pushing for a January exit.
Giroud to Rangers?
And as per Sky Sports News, French outlet L’Equipe claimed that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was keen on Giroud and had already made contact with the Chelsea forward over a potential deal.
However, those reports appear to have been false as Steven Gerrard has responded to the claims that he wants to sign Giroud with the former Liverpool man appearing to have no knowledge of any deal.
Gerrard stated that it was the first he had heard of it and labeled Giroud a good player:
“We are getting linked with some good players. I don’t know anything about it, to be honest.
“If someone knows something about it, give them my number. That’s the first I’ve heard of it.
“He’s a good player, though.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
