Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is widely-expected to be absent for his side’s north London derby meeting with Arsenal this weekend.
Spurs downed by Magpies
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are set to travel to the Emirates on Sunday evening, hoping for an immediate bounce-back performance.
The capital giants followed their morale-boosting 2-2 draw at champions Manchester City two weeks ago with a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle last weekend.
Joelinton bagged the only goal of the clash in north London, slotting home at Hugo Lloris’ near post just past the half-hour mark.
79.8% – Tottenham had 79.8% possession in their 0-1 defeat to Newcastle; the second-highest figure for a losing side in the Premier League since 2003-04, behind only Liverpool’s 80.4% against Burnley in August 2016. Nullified. pic.twitter.com/sCoR81zPy3

Tottenham’s hopes of getting their campaign back on track versus Arsenal this weekend, however, this afternoon appear to have been dealt a blow.
Club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele, who joined the capital giants from Lyon this summer and went on to make an impressive start to life in England, looks set to miss out at the Emirates.
After notching a goal and an assist over his first two Premier League appearances, French midfielder Ndombele was absent for Spurs’ defeat to Newcastle last time out, after picking up a thigh problem in training.
The injury, meanwhile, has since seen the 22-year-old also omitted from France’s squad for the world champions’ upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers:

As such, as reported by the reliable Alasdair Gold of Football.London, Ndombele looks all set to sit out the north London derby:
